"[Jenahid] changed what I thought about bellydance...
[her performance] was art!"
Jenahid is a highly trained, approachable dance artist offering classes in the Quad City area and the artistic director of the QC Hippers. Specializing in Egyptian Raqs Sharki, Egyptian Raqs Balady and American Nightclub Style bellydance, Jenahid (aka "Jenny") is constantly increasing her skill set through classes, private lessons, workshops and independent research. She prides herself on carefully researching the cultural aspects related to music and dance of the Near East, Middle East, and North Africa. Her dancing is most often described as "cute, cute, cute!" although she has been known to pull off "sassy" and the occasional "lovely."

Jenahid & a friend won 2nd place in Lavender Crest Winery's Costume Contest in August 2009.
Jenahid won 1st place in the Dance Contest!

As a teacher, Jenny is experienced teaching movement-based progressive classes, workshops and ongoing classes. She has studied adult learning at the graduate level and is educated in physiology, especially as it pertains to dance. This training allows her to teach muscle-driven technique, which reduces the chance for injury to students. Jenahid is an approachable and highly motivating individual for students of all ages and levels of fitness. Her classes are fun and functional!
